The Pumpkin Patch Parable

Are you looking for ways to help you keep God the center of your homeschool this time of year?  I wanted to share this wonderful book I came across while searching for stories to help me do just that for my five year old.  We read this book today while talking about the lifecycle of a pumpkin.  It was perfect!

The Pumpkin Patch Parable

I highly recommend this book for little ones (or anyone!).   It puts the story into a Biblical perspective by using parables.  The pumpkin seed is planted by the farmer who patiently waits for it to grow. Once it is ready, it is washed clean, all of the icky stuff inside (slimy pulp) is taken out, a new face is carved, and a light (candle) is placed inside to shine in the dark.

This was such a good book, and a great way to keep God center of it all this season!

"For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ."

2 Corinthians 4:6 ESV
